ORM Case Study:
Suppression Through Social Media Optimization

Problem:

A company in the financial services industry was sued by several of their clients. As a result, content on websites that post legal dockets (information about court cases) appeared on the first page of Google. These articles appeared for both the company and the CEO’s name.

Solution:

Our Online Reputation Management campaign was focused on social media. We developed many social media profiles, not just on common websites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Youtube, but also on industry websites that allow people to create public profiles. In the short-term, we were able to effectively suppress these pages from appearing at the top of Google, not only for the client himself, but also for his company. In the long-term, we worked closely with the client to develop the profiles in such a way that established him as an authority in his industry, using compelling content that reinforced his expert status.
